AMP issues detected: Missing embedded video

I keep getting these from google. The latest one is:

    Content mismatch: Missing embedded video

The Best Moment in Television History. 1976 Jerry Lewis Labor Day MDA Telethon. Martin & Lewis Again.

This is a non-critical issue. AMP pages with these issues are valid, but are either: missing advanced AMP features, not using best practices, or might become invalid in the future.

I did search for this topic from others as far back a 2016? But honestly for one thing don’t even know what a AMP is? I click onto my blog that they stated and the Video Is Not Missing. I see it, it is there.

I have gotten other emails on this with different blogs stating the same thing and have to admit I’ve just deleted them. But tonight thought I would address this to the forums. I’m perplexed and don’t know how to fix what they say is a missing video when it is there and not missing.

And now this forum is in blocks??? Wish you would do away with this editor. Anyway appreciate explain what is an AMP, and why I see that the video is not missing to me.

In all honesty I was getting other so called errors from Google on other blogs but again I never could make any sense out of them either. My fault for just deleting something I never could understand to fix. But really would like to understand this AMP issue with them saying missing Video or URL messed up when again it is there for my viewing. I’m on my Desktop Computer.

    Thank You

Should have stated email came from Google Search Console Team. But figured WordPress would know this. And what I wrote, nothing was in blocks just paragraphs.

One other thing, for the last few months and it’s no like I get a lot of alerts, writing way slowed down. But the Bell that has orange (Notifier) will not open for me, just goes around in circles. Do have older desktop OS so I don’t know if this is the problem or not. I do not have nor do I view anything with smartphone. Just have the computer.

Again still awaiting any help from this amp issue.

    Again Thank You.

Guess this wasn’t worthy of any answer.

  • Hello there,

Happy to help you with this.

AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages, and so this is where a page/post is optimised when served via a mobile device. This may involve restructuring how code is loaded under the hood to make things faster. There’s a bit more information here regarding that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/amp-accelerated-mobile-pages/

    Content mismatch: Missing embedded video

This relates to how the video on the article above has been embedded. It looks like this is using this shortcode:

    [gigya src= "https://www.youtube.com/v/K3KAMg9LIzw " flashvars="autoplay=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"]

I’ve not seen this shortcode before, and I suspect Google is not able to recognise this as an embed.

I’d recommend embedding this as per these steps: https://wordpress.com/support/videos/youtube/#embed-with-a-shortcode

One other thing, for the last few months and it’s no like I get a lot of alerts, writing way slowed down. But the Bell that has orange (Notifier) will not open for me, just goes around in circles. Do have older desktop OS so I don’t know if this is the problem or not.

It’s possible the operating system is the cause here – what are you using exactly?

Guess this wasn’t worthy of any answer.

To note, the community forums are not manned in real time and are a space where staff and volunteers can help users.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply and clarification on what AMP’s are, yes I used the gigya so the video’s would automatically play on particular blogs (mostly the music ones) but in reality I believe that all the browsers themselves stopped this.

When I started on wordpress people viewing everything with phones wasn’t on my mind as I’m not into viewing things with smart phones. I don’t own one. Why google would feel the need to stop crawling pages because of this IDK. There are many of us oldies I guess that still use computers, whether desktop or others. If the video’s are missing on phones, oh well so be it. Way too many blogs to change to just to the URL of video’s. That is hundreds of blogs. Who in the world can hear the music with phones? I grew up with stereo’s with speakers. My desktop has subwoofer to hear music crystal clear.

And yes I’m on Windows 7, that was an upgrade from an XP earlier this year. Just don’t have the $ for new computer and then the printer that would become worthless as 7 was the farthest that would be compatible.

So OS definitely may be the problem with Bell not loading.

Thank You for the response. Been a very stressful month, sorry for my impatience. Not usual me. Have a Blessed New Year.

  • Glad this has helped!

You too have a good new year. :)
