AMP Issues with Front Page
-
Hi there,
I’m a bit confused with the effect of AMP on my site. I’m using the Harmonic theme which is retired, so I’m guessing if this is an issue with just my theme, it won’t be fixed, but maybe there’s an easy solution?
Currently, when viewing the “Giveaways” page on a mobile device, the AMP version is shown. This prevents people from seeing the form, as I’ve used a widget for that. It’s pretty well shown in this video: https://twitter.com/Dillan172/status/1072555367601790977
But when I go into my Customiser to try and see if there’s a solution, it suggests that AMP is not supported on front pages.

I also can’t disable AMP temporarily, but I don’t really want to resort to that either. Is there a way to have the “Giveaways” page, which is using the Front Page Template, always show the widgets section, since that’s the most important part of the page?
Thank you! :)

Hi @torres126,
That’s not the AMP page that’s loading on mobile. It’s the WordPress mobile theme, that’s enabled at https://clubpenguinmountains.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=mobile-options
That is a standard theme that looks the same regardless of the theme you have active on your site, and it will not show widgets added to a custom widget area for your specific theme.
The Harmonic theme is already mobile-responsive, though, so there’s no reason to have the mobile theme enabled on your site. That theme is only meant to be used with older non-responsive themes.
