An Attempt to Update PHP
-
Greetings,
I happen to an administrator for a site and have noticed a prompt stating ‘WordPress has detected that your site is running on an insecure version of PHP. ‘ Which it turns out, I am running on version 7.0.33. I’m trying desperately to find a way to update my PHP, but have found no options. I have already backed up my site and updated to the latest version of plugins and WordPress itself. My research has shown me that I must go through my host, but I’m unsure who exactly my host is.
Does anybody know how to update the PHP from the dashboard?

Hi there,
If your site is takeoversports.com, then your hosting provider is https://www.ecohosting.co.uk/
-
I contacted support for https://www.ecohosting.co.uk/ and the gentleman who helped me stated that he saw no account for the domain name and it didn’t point their network so he has redirected me to https://www.ecowebhosting.co.uk/.
I will test the waters again and report my findings.

Hi, @takeoversportsadmin
Your site is not hosted here, on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. For general help with the version of WordPress you’re using, you can ask the WordPress.org community over at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
The other option: you can ask the support of your hosting,
You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:

I realized I replied from my boss’ account. Lol
I’m entirely sure about that though, galois. I’m able to look at my site through https://wordpress.com/view/takeoversports.com
When I went to wordpress.org, none of my login credentials worked. When I go to wordpress.com and try to login, I achieve success and am directed to my site, takeoversports.
However, the wordpress.com login is different from the login I use at https://takeoversports.com/wp-admin. The wp-admin address takes me directly to the dashboard, but my wordpress.com login takes me to a screen with my site with stats, a plan, and other items in the left menu. It’s not my true dashboard, however.

Again, the site https://takeoversports.com is not hosted here, on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider: GoDaddy
https://who.is/whois/takeoversports.comFor general help with the version of WordPress you’re using, you can ask the WordPress.org community over at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
The other option: you can ask the support of your hosting (GoDaddy).
When I went to wordpress.org, none of my login credentials worked.
They are different platforms, and the credentials are not related.
