An empty blog makes for an unhappy Windows 8 application?

    I am on a new computer running Windows 8.1

    I installed the WordPress application from the Win 8 store without any issues.
    I was able to use my credentials in the application to sign into WordPress without any issues.
    However…
    I selected “My Blog” in the application and that is where I got stuck.

    The blog I selected (listed below) does not yet have any posts and the application does not seem to be able to complete the operation. The spinning dots appear as if it is attempting to perform some operation but nothing comes up.

    Perhaps it is related to the fact that the blog is essentially empty and it is trying to retrieve something which does not exist, I am not sure but I suspect this would be an easy test scenario to reproduce.

    This is not critical for me as I can use the browser to accomplish my tasks. But I was interested in exploring the Windows 8 application to see what all it can do.

    I see that you have a few different blogs linked to your WordPress.com account. If you select a different blog (one that does have published posts in it) do you get the same issue? Or does it only happen with this blog?

    So, the Win 8 app is now working (although I do have a few suggestions on the way it work, that is for another day). It began working after I published my 2nd blog entry on the new blog.

    Before I published the entries, I did test the Win 8 app on 2 other Win 8 computers just to see if perhaps the issue was specific to my machine. The issue I experienced also occurred on the other computers.

    So, it seems the nature of the problem appears to be displaying content on new (or perhaps just empty) blogs.

    For now, I do not any issues so I consider this matter closed, where it goes from here is an internal issue for your team.
