an entire post disappears after publishing??

hi
I composed a new post, saved as draft, went to the dashboard, edited it a little bit and published. Nothing unusual so far – but a few hours later I checked my blog and the post was empty! The title is there – but no text!
Went back to the edit page – also empty.
Checked out previous revisions – only two and both have no text in them. I can see the different titles I put while editing (I changed the title after the edit) but there is nothing in there…
How could this happen??
Is there a way to retrieve the lost text? I edited it just a few hours ago, and it was all there!

If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

If you cannot find the post/page in revisions or in Trash then it’s gone and cannot be recovered.
I recommend:
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add NewAlways allow pages to fully load before clicking any other links.
Never leave a post open for content creation or editing and walk away from it. Save it and log out of WordPress.com properly.
Always use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

like I said , I couldn’t find it in the trash and the two previous revisions I can see are empty, even though I can see the correct history of the title changing with the revisions.
The fact that there are only two revisions is quite strange – I’m used to seeing “25+ revisions” in the dashboard editor for most of my posts, I guess because of all the auto-saves that occur while I’m writing. So how come only two revisions?
I’m about to give up, but before I do – do you have any other idea about saving my post? -

All you’ll get is an empty post, so I don’t know if it’ll help you, but I don’t mind sending it via PM.
It’s the 1st time such a thing has ever happened to me after more than 600 posts.
I tried it on google chrome and safari and it’s empty on both.

Is it the post without a title? otherwise just let me know the post title and I’ll check it out.

I see what you mean. The post is completely empty and the post revisions don’t contain any content. Did this only happen with one post? or multiple ones? Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Safari?
At this point there is not much we can do or explain why this happened. I can only recommend to use the ‘Save Draft’ button occasionally while writing a post or try a different browser to see if that helps.

Yes, it’s the only time this ever happened, and it’s the same in both chrome and safari.
I stopped writing new posts with the “new post” button on the main screen, since I understand that the auto-save doesn’t really work, even though it appears to work.
I’m using the “add new” from the dashboard, I hope it’ll never happen again…
What is the “duplicate blogs issue” that timethief mentioned in her reply? Could this help?
