An idea with RSS.. will it work?

  Hey :)

  Currently, we’re creating a web-page for the first time… it’s still in its infancy, but we have an idea and we want to make sure we’re heading on as path that is possible before we carry on with our design.

  We will be having 40 people adding content to the page, regularly… later growing to 80.

  These will be made up of artists (who will all write on an art blog) musicians (on a music blog) and journalists (on a magazine blog)… These blogs will then have an RSS feed into pages on the website.

  Can we however, have separate RSS feeds for each writer? Is there any way of separating the blogs up so we have 40 RSS feeds? We have bio pages on the website, and want separate RSS feeds so every bio page has the blog on it as well…

  Also, we’d like to merge all three (art music and magazine) blogs together to form one big blog on the homepage…
  Is that possible?

  Where do I find these RSS feeds?

  I’m sorry there’s so many questions.. but I’m a real beginner when it comes to this…

  Please read this section of the support documentation so you are sware that all WordPress blogs have built-in feeds. Note that by creating a Category under each author’s name you will have a category feed for each one. More here > Multi-Author WordPress.com Blogs

  At wordpress.com, you cannot put an RSS feed into a “page,” it can only be put into a sidebar, which means in most themes it will show up on all pages of the site.

  The webpage itself isn’t a wordpress though. It’s built from scratch html, that will have RSS feeding into some of the pages. So if we can get the feeds, we can make it work.

  All we need to know is if each user on a multi-user site has their own separate RSS feed or not… and how do we find them. I can’t find the information I need on those sites, but they’ve told me a few other helpful things so thanks :)

  If you’re using WordPress.com, then the answer is no. If you’re using WordPressMU from WordPress.ORG the answer is yes.

  Hey.

  Thanks for the advice so far… I’ve changed things around and gone for .org

  I finally managed to install WordPress.org

  I’m using MAMP and currently only have it locally… how would I go about making multiple usernames with seperate RSS feeds? :)
