an X sign covering the first letter of the tags, is that wrong?

    When I publish a new post in wordpress.com, there appears a page presenting the post, with a list of the tags in this post on the right side, and always there is an X sign covering the first letter of every tag. Is that right, or is anything wrong with my blog?
