Añadir pestañas
-
Buenas tardes:
Pedro. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry, I don’t know if I can edir my last post. Anyway I’m going to write the same question here in order to not duplicate the doubt.
I want to add new tabs in my blog as “Inicio” like for example “Contact” or something similar. I don’t know if it’s possible in wordpress.com or not. I have been looking for this questions but I couldn’t find it. The idea would be to add new tabs with categories on top in my blog.
Thanks a lot and good afternoon.

Try a Custom Menu: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Just remember that a custom menu starts the menu all over with a clean slate so you need to add in all the tabs that you want.

Yes, this is possible. You can create as many Pages as you wish and sub-pages that will display below them when you include them in a custom menu. A custom menu allows you to display Pages with sub-pages in drop-downs from Parent Pages in tabs along the horizontal navigation. If you wish you can also include Categories with sub-categroies in drop-downs from them, and Custom Links in your custom menu as well.
Create pages and sub-pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/
1. You create a custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/2. You add the Parent pages you want to display and arrange them in the order you want.
3. Then you add and drop and drag the subpages below the appropriate Parent pages, and when you have everything arranged in the menu that you want you save the menu.
4. Go to the “theme location” module at upper left on the menu page. Select your custom menu name from the pulldown labeled “primary location.” Click the save button in that module.
5. Refresh your browser so that it isn’t possibly pulling a cached page, and view see your new menu with Parent pages and dropdowns to sub-pages.

Thank you. I’ve just tried to follow the steps and I can’t see the changes in my webpage. I am only able to change “Inicio” to antoher custom menu, but I want to put something like this page:
Home Features News …
I got to build new custom menus and add to them pages and categories, but I can’t view later in my webpage. Must I put them in some place after building them?
Thanks :)

A custom menu needs to be installed or made “live” if my memory is correct that part is at the end of the link I gave you and is a bit hidden – read down all the way to the end and that should cover the install part.

We do not even know what the link to your blog is as you have failed to provide it. Consequently, we cannot visit the blog and see which theme you are working with. :(
-
Oh sorry!! I though that it was directly from my name.

PD: I’m going to review the last comment :)

Ok auxclass.
I reviewed this part. If I use the activation of the primary location the menu “Inicio” changes into “My Menu”. But I don’t want it. I want to add differents menu apart of “Inicio”.
For example:
Inicio Restaurants Hotels ….
Thanks

Okay so you have the Greyzed theme and the instructions I posted will work. Please go through the process again. First create pages and sub-pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ and then create the custom menu and include them as I described above.
-
But I don’t want a page. I want a menu with a category (for example Restaurants) and if I clik on this menu, it will show me all the articles inside this category. I don’t know if I’m explaining well or not.
Thanks :)

Staff have provided help for those who want to structure their blog like a website. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/
What’s important when creating a website structure is the differences between pages and posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
There is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. We organize our posts by assigning Categories to them. When we publish a post it automatically appears on the running page for posts and also on the Categories pages and Archives pages.
A custom menu allows you to display Categories in tabs along the horizontal navigation where normally only Pages tabs are displayed. (Note that there must be at least one published post in the Category for there to be anything to display.) If you wish you can also include Pages and custom links in your custom menu as well.
These are the how-to instructions:
1. You create a custom menu. http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
2. You add the Categories you want to display and arrange them in the order you want.
3. Then you add and drop and drag the sub-categories below the appropriate Categories, and when you have everything arranged in the menu that you want you save the menu.
4. Go to the “theme location” module at upper left on the menu page. Select your custom menu name from the pull-down labeled “primary location.” Click the save button in that module.
5. Refresh your browser so that it isn’t possibly pulling a cached page, and view see your new menu with Categories and dropdowns to sub-categories.

Oh dear! I’m so sorry about the bold lettering. It was unintended. I left a strong tag open. :(
-
Maybe I’m trying to put a website instead a blog and maybe with the categories in the left side is enough for people find concret articles, right?
Thanks a lot!

I apologize for being unable to help you. I have told you what’s possible. Perhaps another Volunteer can help you because I can’t.

If you make it more like a website rather than a traditional blog (using individual pages for your content rather than posts), you need to be aware that you can only associate categories with posts and not with pages. There are many ways of achieving the sort of thing you want to do, I believe, and timethief has directed you to some pages that should really help. :)
