Analytics Help
-
Hi
Hoping someone can help a bit of a novice! I’m trying to get my head around this analytic stuff with Google, I used to have it sorted but something’s gone wrong. When I used to check google webmasters analytics i’d show clicks, views and keywords etc, but now it just shows no data at all anywhere, I may have sorted this by adding it as a property, but not sure why it would stop being one when it worked before
I found online to do the “fetch as google” thing but it just says “redirected” and this;
Downloaded HTTP response:
1
HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently
2
Server: nginx

Have you had a chance to look at this support doc. It’s a much easier route than the one you described.
Link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-analytics/
Hope that helps!

Hi yes I looked at that but unfortunately it made no sense to me, I did what it said about the adding it as a property which i did it gave me no unique code and nor can i find the analytics tab in the settings. I have verified the blog with google and that still works

Google Analytics support on WordPress.com is available only as a feature of the WordPress.com Business plan. Visit Settings → Analytics under My Sites to enable Google Analytics.
So the question is: Have you purchased the Business Plan upgrade or not?
-
Only if your answer is: Yes, I have the Business Upgrade on my blog, then modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hi I have not bought the business upgrade, but I’ve never had it and I used to get stats from the google webmaster. Has something changed with wordpress that now doesn’t allow it?
-
We have never been able to run Google Analytics on our wordpress.com hosted blogs, until Jan 29, 2015 @ 5:00 pm when this feature was made available only for Business upgraded blogs.

Google Webmaster tools are not the same as Google Analytics
Webmaster tools are allowed here – but the configure is special here
-
Thanks – just wanted to cover both bases – and Webmaster Tools gives a few more tools that can help understand what search engines do
my pleasure to help

Ok nevermind then something must have gone wrong with webmaster as it used to work and show clicks and keywords and links to the site, Google must have changed something, I have the site verified and everything and that’s still the same. Shame, I liked seeing the stats even if there weren’t many!
Thanks
