Anchoring menu in the block editor

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using the block editor now and then but keep returning to the classic editor. I think I can finally put my finger on one issue that keeps bothering me. It’s not blocks. It’s the menu moving to whichever block I am working on rather than staying in the same place.

Blocks are interesting. The ever-moving menu getting in the way of what I want to do (such as editing/selecting the previous paragraph), however, is extremely annoying. Is there a way to anchor that menu at the top of the window or in the sidebar? If not (I couldn’t find any), there should be.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

there is such function, actually I wish it was enabled by default:

When you enter page/post editing screen, press three dots in upper left corner and then just press “Top toolbar”.

    Hope that helps :)
