Hi folks,

I’m unable to get the author to show up on my posts. The author is selected/showing in the author drop down menu when I’m creating the post, but once published, no author is shown. How do I fix this?

Thanks in advance for your help with this frustrating issue!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

yikes! MODERATOR, would you please fix the title for me? I accidentally left it the same as my previous post. This one should be:

How do I get the author to show up on my posts?

Thank you very much, and I’m sorry for the hassle!

Some themes display author bylines and some do not. You can switch to a theme that does display a byline. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/08/15/author-displayed-or-not/

Timethief, I’ve got it set on “twenty ten” right now – and another blog I’m familiar with also uses that theme, but theirs displays the authors… see: wattsupwiththat.com versus mine: http://rationaldb8.wordpress.com/

Also, is there any way for me to catch a moderator’s attention other than posting as I did above in this thread?

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the help you’ve been giving me today!

You don’t need Staff help for this. Scroll down to “Work-around for single Author bloggers who do wish to have a byline display on their posts” here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/01/03/wordpress-com-changes-bylines-for-authors/

Thank you, I’ll check the link – although on wattsupwtihthat.com, they use many different authors…

as to the moderator — sorry I wasn’t clear — I needed to catch a moderator’s attention to get this post’s title changed – I had accidentally left it identical to my previous post, so it doesn’t match the contents of this post.

Oh!! I understand now, after reading your tip/educational post.

That ought to fix the author problem for me!
