Andreas09 and blockquotes
-
I love the Andreas09 theme, and had it customized to meet my needs exactly, but I am running into a big problem. It does not work well on blockquotes. It will not treat a second (or third, etc.) paragraph in a block quote correctly: it will not put blank lines between the paragraphs, no matter how many I put in, so the paragraphs are not separated. I tried a workaround of using an indent to start the paragraphs, so it would not matter that there is no blank line to separate them, but it also ignores the indent on second and subsequent paragraphs. Anyone else have this trouble and were you able to fix it? I’ve abandoned Andreas09 for now but would love to have it back.
Thanks!

Hi,
I tried this out on my test blog and you are quite right the results are exactly as you report. Someone else brought up another change to the same theme re: categories and boxes yesterday that was not pleasing either. So, I’m speculating that a theme upgrade has taken place.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=12276I believe that all you can do is to send a feedback to staff and ask if the theme has been upgraded and if this lack of spacing between paragraphs when blockquotes are used is intentional or not.

Thank you! I will do that. Hope they can get it fixed, as it is otherwise a versatile theme.
Thanks again,

I know for a fact that this problem with Andreas 09 has been around for a while. I’ve been using the theme for several months, and have always had this problem, although I used to be able to through in a bunch of breaks and get the block quote to work. Not anymore, now. So maybe a recent change was made.

I finally figured out how to force it to give me paragraphs in the blockquote. I put paragraph marks around the paragraphs and then added a paragraph with just a space.
Let me illustrate if the code here lets me:
<p>Paragraph one</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Paragraph two</p>
This should work as a temporary fix. It’d be great if they could fix this bug. I will add feedback when I can.
(note for the space in the second line of code, use the ampersand sign, then nsp followed by a semicolon)
