Andreas09 blockquote problem
-
I have been using Andreas09 as my blog theme and I really like it, except for the way it does blockquotes. If I paste a quote and indent it, the paragraphs are all bunched together, instead of being separated. I can get around this by placing the cursor at the head of each paragraph and indenting each one separately, but then I have paragraphs that look like individual quotes, instead of one single quote with different paragraphs. The other three column themes that I have tried all keep the paragraph formatting and still quote the selection as one blockquote. Is there a format option I am missing? Is there a way to fix this? If my explanation is not clear, you can visit my blog to see what I am talking about.

I’m not sure why it’s not showing the extra line. I just tried it on my test blog, and you are right, it doesn’t. In that case, for whatever reason, it’s the way the designer designed the theme.
Insert this code twice at the end of the sentence (without an accompanying space via the spacebar)
With some fonts, it may be necessary to use three of the hard spaces to get the spacing you want. -
Actually, put a single instance of the code on a blank line between the paragraphs in code view.

I can’t seem to get the code you provided to do anything at all. It has something to do with me, most likely. I can easily separate the paragraphs, but it looks very unprofessional with them all as individual blockquotes. I am leaning towards using the Digg 3 theme, even though it has a large header. The quotes look good on it.

Put the text you want in the quote into the post. Then highlight all of it and select the blockquote. The text is now blockquoted. Now switch to code view and insert the code shown above into a blank line between the paragraphs and click save. Now preview the post, and it should have the black line between the paragraphs within the blockquote.

It looks like we crossed paths as we posted. I have inserted the code as you suggested, between the paragraphs in code view and it seems to have worked. One thing to remember with this method, the code has to be inserted between each paragraph and then save the entire post. Otherwise, the formatting seems to be lost.

I just tried it with a couple lines so I didn’t run into that, but thanks for letting us know.
Glad you have a workaround now. Could you please go to your original post above and mark this thread resolved?

I have it marked resolved. Again, the only problem I can see with this solution is the fact that the code that forces the space is lost if the post is edited in any way.
