Animated .gif in text widget

  hi there,

  i am new to blogging and not the best one in techinques..
  i put an animated .gif in the text widget, but there is no looping effect – can you help me?

  The image that you use doesn’t appear to be animated. This is the image:
  http://schadenmeldung.files.wordpress.com/2008/01/stopthebomb_e_loop.thumbnail.gif

  and if you put that in your browser bar, you just see a static image. Maybe you uploaded the wrong one by mistake? I know animated gifs will work in posts and don’t know of a reason they wouldn’t work in sidebars.
