Annoying Footer on WordPress Page
-
Hello all,
The footer says:- “Blog at WordPress.com. | Theme: Piano Black by Mono-Lab.”
The day from which wordpress has been updated, it has seems almost impossible to remove the footer content on your webpage. Even if you rollback to previous version then also there is no option available to resolve this task.
Earlier, we could do this by using “Appearance—> editor” but now, no such link is available.
How can we resolve this problem of removing the footer content from our webpage???
Please help…The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you are using “appearance > editor, then you are in the wrong forum and need to head over to the WordPress.org forums as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.
These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently.
If you are not familiar with the differences, see this support document.

If you are asking about the blog linked to your name – removing the footer is against the Terms of Service and can get your blog suspended.

Semi-lame workaround / suggestion:
On pages where I don’t want visitors to notice the distracting text/links/wordpress credits etc at the bottom of a page, I just type period, return, period, return, period, return — i.e., one period per line x dozens of lines as needed to push the footer info so far down that it doesn’t show in normal browsing. Be sure to apply text color to the periods to match your theme’s background color so they disappear. I’ve done this on several of my pages at steveeichenberger.com if you want to see examples.
(No, blank carriage returns don’t work, I tried that first. Blank lines at the bottom of entries are disregarded/trimmed, at least in the themes I’ve tried; you have to put a “placeholder” character on each line…wouldn’t have to be periods, any character will do.)
I too would like to have the option to get rid of the wordpress credit line; I thought they used to let you pay per year to get rid of it, but I don’t even see that option offered anymore.
On the other hand, I appreciate the Modularity Lite theme so much that I have to admit the designer deserves his/her credit!

@steveeichenberger, at wordpress.COM, that can get your site suspended.
You can hide it with CSS, but you are likely to come back to your site and find it suspended if you do that.

Thanks for the heads up, sacredpath…
I may have exaggerated for sake of illustration…I don’t put *that* many lines at the bottom…
Would you be so kind as to have a quick look at my site and let me know if you think it’s egregious enough to rankle the powers that be?

You are welcome, and no, you are fine.
Whew! Now I’ll sleep better last night… ;-)
@steveeichenberger, great paintings by the way.
