Annual Domain Registration Chargeback and Now in Redemption

    This domain registration has been with wordpress.com since 2019, and renewed annually. The last renewal was successfully processed on Oct 31, 2022. We recently noticed this domain registration was inexplicably charged back on Jan 27, 2023. We’re trying to get this domain back in place and have no way of renewing within the Purchases section of the wordpress account. If we try to add it manually it states that it’s currently in redemption.

    I find it odd that the only option available for support is a forum post. Bumping this back to the top to get some assistance.

    Hi there!

    It looks like the domain is now in redemption. It entered this stage because it was canceled when the renewal payment was disputed. There’s an $80 redemption fee to restore the domain from this stage. You can learn more about the redemption period here.
