  You have created a free site with the subdomain address https://searchspanieldirectory.wordpress.com/
  If you want a different custom domain address without the .wordpress.com at the end then you need to upgrade your site to a Pro plan. The custom domain address would be included free for the first year with your paid plan. For year two you would need to renew the paid plan and also begin paying annually to renew the custom domain.

  The domain name is free for the first year if you buy the WordPress Pro Plan. But you still have to pay for the WordPress Pro Plan an sich.
