Another bloggers gravatar leads to my blog

  When jllopartfolch liked my posts and I clicked on his/her gravatar it lead back to my site: jllopartfolch
  wordpress.com/me/account
  It’s strange, how can that happen?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Other wordpress.users had the same “problem”, https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/hacked-account-27/. It seems jllopartfolch linked his site as wordpress.com/me/account which brings you to your own account. No need to worry.

  Thank you for your answer Startmees. It’s a bit odd though. I just don’t understand how this is possible.

  Hi there,

  This is not a bug.

  Your username links to whatever URL you specify in the Website field in account settings at https://wordpress.com/me/account

  There is no requirement that someone is only allowed to link to a WordPress.com site – many people who use Gravatar don’t have WordPress.com sites at all, and instead link their usernames to websites they own elsewhere, to social media profiles, etc.

  If someone types in the wrong link there, there’s no way for us to know, as we have no way of knowing what link they intended to add there :)
