Another HTML entity that gets "edited" by WP
-
⅓is supposed to insert 1 character for 1/3. It doesn’t. Apparently WP doesn’t understand it, so it edits the&inserts&and plugs the rest in as characters.Of course you will say that I can use the numeric code as in
⅓but there is a reason that the mnemonics exist. Because people can remember them, without having to consult reference. In case you need a reference: https://www.w3schools.com/charsets/ref_html_entities_f.asp or https://www.w3schools.com/charsets/tryit.asp?deci=8531&ent=frac13
You should either support every last HTML entity, or you should just admit that you don’t and stop editing my HTML to save me from myself because you think you know better. You do not.
Incidentally, I am not using your What You See Is What You Get editor, because what I see, is not what I want. I am editing the HTML because then I can get exactly what I want, as long as you stay out of my way.

Brilliant. Even your “code” brackets don’t handle entities correctly.
The numeric code for the fraction 1/3 is #8531
