Another sidebar issue, I’m afraid

    Hi there,

I know this has been raised a lot and all the other forum threads are closed…but the fix is still eluding me!

I have the problem that the sidebar shifts down to under the posts. It’s done this since I started it.
    I have tried the following:
    – gone through the posts one by one – it does it on all of them
    – I haven’t used Word for any of the posts
    – removed all widgets from sidebar to no effect, so I put them back in
    – I can’t edit the CSS so it can’t be that
    – shrank down all the images a bit

The onlt thing I haven’t tried is to go back and edit every single post with the clean up broom icon thing…please tell me I don’t have to do this!

If anyone can help, my blog is at http://greygoat.wordpress.com/

    Thankyou in advance!
    Kate

hm… guess you have seen this.
    http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/05/30/why-is-my-sidebar-at-the-bottom-of-my-posts/
thing is – I imagine you have added something that is too wide for the column, wether it is the main content or the sidebar.
    Have you changed themes recently?
Do you remember what the last thing you did before it happened was?

I imagine you have added something. Do the clean up brush on your last few posts, at least, and see what happens.

Have you got any unclosed html tags in your text? Could be that you’ve opend something like <div> and not closed it properly. Also are those images a part of the design or have you added them in in html?

@greygoat, There is actually nothing wrong. Tarski has two places for widgets, the left-hand side of the theme (main sidebar), and what it calls “footer widgets”. What you need to do is go to design > widgets and remove the widgets from the “footer widget” area and move them to the “main sidebar” area. Use the pulldown at the top of the “current widgets” column to choose. Make sure and “save changes” after removing the widgets from the “footer widgets” area and then again after adding them back into the “main sidebar” area.

Thankyou all for your support – and thankyou, thesacredpath, you’re a star – you’re right.

I’ve removed the footer widgets and put them into the sidebar and it looks how I expected.

I guess I never noticed in the early stages because there were’nt enough posts to shift it down!

    Many thanks
    Kate
