another site migration ?

  Hi. Have been reading the info regarding transferring a WP site to a new WP site or an offline site – and I think the fog is lifting. :-)

  Anyway, I marked my blog private today – as I cannot block a particular user. I am not arguing with this WP policy – just explaining.

  If I create a new WP site to migrate existing content – I believe I can do this including the photo/art I have uploaded to the *media* folder. This, of course, is my biggest concern. I have downloaded the xml file.

  I am being a bit disjointed here – but to transfer to another WP site – I imagine I must use the same WP user name. Which might make the effort pointless. Can I transfer to a new WP with a new user name – even though it is still me?

  Is there another not-so-convoluted way to do this?

  Yes you can. Log out and clear your browser cache and cookies. http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache Then without logging in create another new username account using a different email address and register a blog under it.
