Another venue for deactivated email address?

    Hi everyone!

I deactivated the email address with which I purchased my domain name through WP, but now cannot change it to the email address I’m using, since I no longer have access to that, and I need to change it to be able to transfer it to self-hosting/WP.org. I tried contacting Yahoo for access to the old email account, and the customer service rep said that I could not be granted access again… and then I looked on Yahoo’s Twitter page, which said they don’t have a public Customer Care phone number and that the person I called was a scammer (great…). What’s the best venue for getting around this? I’ve submitted a Contact form, but other than that, I’m not sure of what to do. Please advise!!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey there,

Do you happen to the transaction ID from the domain purchase?

I would be more than happy to assist you in regaining access to your account. Was the account recovery form you submitted? If not, could you please fill out our account recovery form, we’ll definitely get in touch with you as soon as possible.

Please visit our support page for more information on recovering your account.

    Thanks!

    Hi Darnell,

Thank you so much for replying!! I typed in the information for this to that form to which you linked me, and it said that I should be able to do this with just the lost password form. However, I’m not having any issues accessing my account– I can sign in, I know my password. It’s just that when I registered the domain, I registered it to my Yahoo account. I was able to change the email for my WP blog itself no problem, but when I upgraded to a paid plan, it wouldn’t let me change the email for that part itself. That email did not change to my Gmail, like my general account email had changed when I changed it.

Basically, I go to My Site –> Domains –> spendingtheweekend.com –> Contacts and Privacy, and my old email address is still showing there. It won’t let me change it unless I have access to the Yahoo email address, but I don’t have access to it anymore at all, and I’m just not sure how to proceed.

Basically, I sign in to WordPress with my new email account, but my old one is still showing in the domain registration, and it won’t let me change it.

Nevermind, I see now that it’s only possible to transfer the domain name within 60 days after the registration date.

    Sheesh.

It’s not 60 days within but rather after registration.

So, if you are referring to spendingtheweekend.com, then it’s been registered for 183 days and definitely qualifies for transfer.

However, your domain isn’t verified yet and it is a potential issue that you no longer have the email associated with the domain any longer.

I’m going to email you some information on how you can possibly verify your account.

Let me know if you do not receive the email. Thanks!
