Any easier way to set rolls for users?

i read about the subscribing to blog just a minute ago and i misunderstood
because i thought nosysnoop was talking about setting rolls of the blog.
If you go to Dashboard -> Users, you’ll see the section “Add user from community”,
and you can add people with different rolls like subscriber, contributor, editor,
author, and administrator. But in order to do that, the blog administrator has to
manually add users. And i was wondering if an administrator could allow users to
set their roll to other blog on their own. Hope i made it clear.

A-N-Y-W-A-Y, i’m a little confused about the Meta part and RSS feed part timethief
mentioned. timethief said “they type your url into the names of the site feeds that
they want to subscribe to.” i don’t understand the “site feeds”. Anyone would kindly
    explain it to me? Plz?

And i was wondering if an administrator could allow users to set their roll to other blog on their own.

Um, no. If they could, then they could set themselves to administrator and then delete the blog and that would be a bad thing. :)

Here‘s the FAQ on the different levels just in case you hadn’t seen it.

The Meta bit is just links for housekeeping items like for you to log in and out of your blog. It also includes links for your blog’s RSS feed. RSS is a system where one can read your blog and your Posts using an RSS reader from their desktop. It’s really for those who read large numbers of sites where they can view all of the Posts in their reader instead of having to visit each and every site one at a time.

    Hope this helps,

How do I set up my Blog so a visitor has to subscribe to an email list?

The setup we have here does not support mail lists. Best bet would be to find an off site mail list provider and follow their instructions.
