Any idea how I can create a membership directory?

I am VERY new to WordPress, and wondered if someone could help me out. I need to create a way to enter a membership directory. This directory would need to allow me (and only me) to enter each club member and their info, and have it be viewable to the public, but without the ability to comment or edit. Any ideas or instructions are appreciated.

Is your blog hosted at WordPress.com, or is it independently hosted using WordPress software? The answer will depend on which of the two it is. Differences explained here:

Thenn what you need is to create a static page with this information and disable the comments. You will have to enter the content by hand.

I was hoping there was some cool directory widget or something that would organize everything, but alas! No such luck.

You’re welcome. Wish there were a simpler proceedure, but not at WordPress.com as far as I know.

There is the new “authors” widget which will show all the authors on a blog. Great for blogs with multiple authors.

That may just work, “thesacredpath,” if the widget can be placed on a separate page…….hmmmm..interesting.
