Thank you, everyone, for responding. At least we all know now that this is a WordPress service problem, and that it is not in our minds!
I doubt if there is a “fix” that we can apply, since our sites are not the problem; but it will be interesting to see if there is an excuse forthcoming from WordPress.

Yeah this seems like a WordPress issue.
My font is a typekit one if this helps with the debugging.
The funny thing is my preferred font shows when i have the customize editor open.
also at times (when it is working), it doesn’t always load or would take a long time to render. (i have found certain sharing buttons to cause problems, specifically Pinterest and G+ ).

Me too for authenticchica.com!
Wordpress can you please fix this asap?
I tried adjusting it already 4 times, but keeps giving the ugly default font settings…:( -
This might be related to Amazon server problems where Buffer App can not load images and images on Tumblr are not loading either.
-
Anyway, it is a very inconvenient and nasty looking problem: I added modlook in the tags, for some serious help.

If by “fixed” we mean ‘disappeared’, yes. There has been no explanation, though. I don’t think this is OK at all.
Do we have to chalk it up to being just another abuse by WordPress on its customers?
-
Well…. anyway, we don’t know what was the problem… but it has been resolved. I guess also experts can make a slight mistake and nicely repair afterwards.
Bottomline, someone signalled our problem and inmediately undertook some action.
Maybe not OK, but basically that is what this Forum is all about, isnt it? -
Hi everyone,
I’m sorry for the glitch with your fonts! Our team launches new changes to WordPress.com throughout the day, every day, and although we try to avoid introducing bugs they do sometimes slip through. I’m very sorry for the impact this had on your sites.
I’m not sure exactly what caused the font issue you saw, but if anyone is still having trouble with this please let me know.

Hi Rachelmcr, now the problem is almost fixed, aswhen entering my site it still shows default mode settings for a second and then it changes to my chosen font settings. The site keeps doing this everytime you switch pages and blogsposts…especially when I look at the site on my Adroid mobile phone it keeps starting each page or post in default font and taking more than 2-3 second to switch to chosen font mode…can you please check what I can do to fix this asap?

Yea mine has done that for a long time. I figured it was my browser/settings. I guess not.

So, the system needs just a moment to download your custom font. We chose to show text even if it wasn’t in the fancy font, because that tends to go better for folks on mobile devices and what not.
But you can hide the text until your font is fully downloaded, if you’d like, by using this CSS:
.wf-loading body { visibility: hidden; }If you decide to use that, you might try testing your site on a mobile device with a poor signal, just so you can decide whether it’s worth it to show the nicer font first.
