Any issues upgrading from Dyad to Dyad2? (or any post-install tasks?)

Has anyone upgraded their Dyad to Dyad2 and if so, any tips?

  • These are the main changes between Dyad & its refreshed version, Dyad 2, for self-hosted sites:

    • Added Support for Jetpack Author Bio, so you can use Content Options with Jetpack active to show or hide author bios
    • Added a new call-to-action button class so you can add a call-to-action button easily
    • Added dropdown arrows for menu items with sub-menus
    • Adds SVG support to Social Links Menu
    • Core Custom Logos instead of Jetpack Site Logos

You may need to re-assign your custom menu to the theme and move any missing widgets from the Inactive section in your dashboard to the appropriate widget location. No content should go missing.

If you have further questions about the self-hosted version of Dyad or Dyad 2, as I mentioned in your other thread please post directly in the Dyad forum at WordPress.org:

I managed to update from Dyad to Dyad 2 without any major issues. I did notice that the size of the headline title fonts appear to be bigger on Dyad 2 than on Dyad, so that might throw you a bit in terms of the amount of space your titles now take up compared to previously. I keep meaning to ask about reducing these font sizes somehow.

I recall the upgrade messed up my menus completely – they weren’t showing at all, and the custom CSS I had installed had disappeared. But all fixed within 30 minutes of playing around.

    Go for it.

  • Thanks for your report, Tony! You can make headings smaller in your Customizer’s Fonts panel, or with custom CSS. If you need help with anything, please start a new thread and provide a link to your site and we’ll be glad to help.
