Any one else using Origin theme?

I’ve been experimenting with different themes but I keep coming back to Origin. I like the fact that it’s a responsive theme, it has a ‘magazine’ format which allows me to post snippets and images from several posts on the home page and I like changing the header image to keep the site looking fresh. Any other Origin fans here? What kinds of things have you done to make your site look good or are you happy with the ‘out of the box’ look?

As always, thank you, timethief for your kindness and speed in responding with a solution :-) which I’ve already tried. What I’m after are some other ‘live’ Origin fans so that we can compare notes and exchange ideas. The best one I’ve found so far is Other Sashas (although Sasha has bought a CSS upgrade but her site looks beautiful, in my opinion.) I’ll keep looking. I’ve joined ‘The Commons’ since I’ve been responding to the blogging tutorials and daily prompts and perhaps I’ll find someone using the theme there. Thanks, again! :-)

I’ll speak up and say I’m a huge fan of Origin! It’s perfect for film reviews because on the front page the portrait-size image of the film poster balances the text and title of a post very nicely. Having just the one sidebar also seems very minimal and visually appealing, rather than cluttered with extra stuff.
I love Origin because it does pretty much everything I need. I’ve tried a bunch of other themes to see if I like anything better, but nothing looks as good for what I want. Top marks to the devs!

Forgot to say, I haven’t got a custom CSS upgrade but have tried to make my blog look as ‘custom’ as possible. I think Origin makes this pretty easy for users to achieve due to its simplicity. You can add things here and there to get the look you want.

Hi Anna, thanks for replying and your blog is smashing! You’ve done such a good job with layout and design. I’m looking forward to reading your reviews – me and husband often need some ideas for films on the rare occasions we’re together AND have some free time! Delighted to have found Film Grimoire :-)
