Any other blog writers having buggy problems???
-
I’ve had it with WordPress, lately.
I can’t use it, anymore! I need to be able to edit and write and this isn’t a blog, but a BOG!!!!
The autosave bogs me down, freezing every thing up literally every few seconds while it STUPIDLY autosaves. OK, autosave is not helpful when it stops you from doing what you need to do! And, when I contacted support, they suggested it’s me/my computer…can’t possibly be a problem on THEIR site, heaven forbid! To go on record, I don’t have this issue on ANY of my other three blog sites…not blogger, Blog.co.uk, etc.
To add insult to injury, I just spent over an HOUR editing some posts and when I went to PUBLISH, I got KICKED OUT!! I effing just lost an hour’s HARD WORK, for nothing!!!
Now I have to go back in and do it ALL OVER AGAIN. SOB!!!
WordPress is getting too darn buggy for me. I’m outta’ here. I may or may not keep this blog, for people to read, but from now on I REFUSE to use WordPress. It was a great blog, but now…rubbish. If I can’t use it with ease, it’s pretty much useless.
Anyone else having these issues though? I mean, is it just me, having these headaces?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh, and what REALLY is making me angry enough to chew nails, is the crap “autosave” that’s bogging down my blog every few seconds when I write—it DIDN’T save my work when the blog booted me out! (rude word)

ya. I’m having a lot of problems with wordpress too. do you have any suggestions tho? cause all the blog websites i know of are wordpress and blogger and i was told blogger sucks and apparently so does word press
-
You may indeed both be frustrated, but as far as I can tell neither of you have blogs at WordPress.com. If you do have them, can you please post a link to the exact blog, starting with http? Otherwise we’re going to have to assume you’re using the self-installed version of WordPress software, and the problems are your own or your web host’s fault.

Because some blogs have problems built into them. And a LOT of people come here with problems who don’t even have WordPress.COM blogs at all, and we can’t help them.
Now, what browser and version are you using? Have you enabled third-party cookies? Have you done the Cookie Dance (ie logged out, cleared browser cache and cookies, done a full restart)?

Thanks. Your problem could be the Firefox version; there are about six threads of problems related to that version. Can you be more specific about what problems YOU are having? The other poster doesn’t seem to have a WP.com blog at all.

well he said on his first post that he spent and hour typing a post and then there was an error.
so im pretty sure he just deleted it -
drwhovian, again, is your blog hosted on WordPress.COM? You keep posting here, but we can’t help until we know if you are in the right forum.

And apparently drwhovian is another user who’s been here for 2010 years! https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/drwhovian There is a rift in the space/time continuum!
Exterminate! Exterminate! (sorry, overcome by a Dalek)

I found this thread searching for a solution to a similar problem. I host my own wordpress so I’m probably in the wrong place to get help but wanted to give more info on this “bug”.
I use firefox 3 and wordpress is current. The only change I made recently was to install a plugin to put back the id numbers for posts as I use WordPress as a content management system mostly with pages. but I’m pretty sure I had this occur before I installed this.
I do revisions inside a post. Everything is fine for a while and then something happens. Generally the revisions area then says that an autosave was done. It appears that the save I do and the autosave may be done at the same time and cause a conflict.
What happens is that my page goes blank – both sides, visual and html. The auto save revision is there but cannot be restored and if copied and pasted back in will not stay there, the editor is blank, the page is blank. Neither will it restore prior revisions into the space.
I have also experienced the message that says if you navigate away your changes will be lost even though the prior save gives the message that the save was successful. When I go out and come back I have an pink autosave message at the top saying there is a page more recent than the one I am on.
If I make a further change to this post and save it, the message goes away and all is well again.
I am also having a problem with images, when I click on the image loader to try to upload an image, firefox crashes.
If anyone can point to a solution, I’d be extremely grateful.

The FF crash when trying to upload images is caused by Google Gears (turbo). Go to tools > addons and disable it.
To clp12 and drwhovian, I know you are frustrated, but do keep in mind that there are literally hundreds of switches, relays, routers, and who knows what else between you and wordpress. You do not have a direct dedicated connection to their servers. That means there are literally hundreds of things that can mess up between you and wordpress. Each time that you press save, your data might take a different route to wordpress depending on whether there is a problem on one of the routes, or due to loads on a particular route. This is exactly why I question the trend toward “web applications” and “cloud computing.”
My suggestion to you both is to get an offline blog client such as Windows Live Writer (free), or if you are on Mac, Ecto (not free by reasonable at less than $20). You compose your stuff in that program, it saves to your local computer and then when you are ready to publish, you click a button and the program sends you post to wordpress. If something is amiss between you and wordpress and the data doesn’t get there, you can send it again, and you always have a copy on your local computer.
NEVER assume that the internet is perfect and always works perfectly. I’ve seen estimates that during the day, packet loss on the internet runs around 10% (requiring at least 10% of data to be resent) during the day and around 4% at night.

Thanks for the info on gears – I’ll disable and try this again. Will look into windows live writer too, it sounds like great advice. Thanks for taking the time thesacredpath, I appreciate it.
