In order to help you we need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

4. Try using another browser.
5. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/

Timethief thanks for a very comprehensive response. However, the problem remains.
I’m using Mac OSX 10.9.1 with Chrome 32. I’ve also tried it with Firefox 26.0. No error message appear. All other aspects of WordPress seem to be working fine. -
Thanks for the update. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

If possible, send me a screenshot, so I can better understand the issue. You can simply upload the screenshot to your Media Library, like any other image, and I’ll be able to access it from there.
The page at the following link has some helpful tips for taking screenshots:

I’ve upload before and after screenshots – i.e. the button that I press and what appears next. There are no error messages etc.
(I’m using Chateau theme.)
Thanks -
The ‘Copy a Post’ link is a quick link that jumps to the ‘Copy a Post’ section in your editor. Make sure you select ‘Writing Helper’ from the ‘Screen Options’ menu in order to display the Copy a Post section: http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/

Thanks again Kartodim – but the Writing Helper was already ticked. I’ve tried unticking, and re-ticking but ‘Copy a Post’ still doesn’t work – it just brings up a new post form.

Quick update – after quitting my browser and trying the “writing Helper’ again, we have success! Thanks very much for your help.
