Any speed focused theme recommendation?

    I’m currently using the Twenty Twenty theme for my free wordpress website and i’ve been running some performance tests on it using gtmetrix, pagespeed insights and pingdom and i’m kind of thinking about exploring for other themes that don’t affect too much the performance of it (specially with the fonts).

    The website it’s new and i’m trying to optimize it in any way possible allowed by wordpress.com so i’m asking is there any theme that is light and a little bit efficient in terms of loading times.

    Hi there,

    I’m not aware of any issues with the page load speed or overall performance of the Twenty Twenty theme. This is the current default theme included with the open source WordPress software and was thoroughly tested by the WordPress.org community before it was released, as well as here on WordPress.com before we enabled the theme here.

    I checked your site on my end, and it loads for me almost instantly, downloading a total of only 1.5Mb of data.

    Can you provide more information on what isn’t working on your end? Does the site load slowly for you? If so, can you provide some details about your internet connection, e.g. the type of connection and usual connection speed? And can you check the Network tab of your browser’s developer tools and try and identify the specific resource(s) that’s causing problems?

    If the issue here is simply that you’re seeing errors in various third party tools, then you should know that no website on the web ever gets full marks from those. Those tools are useful for troubleshooting the cause if a site is taking long to load, but just because those tools say there are things on your site that can be improved, it doesn’t mean anything is actually wrong.

    To answer your question, we have no way to filter themes in terms of loading times, especially as the loading time of your site depends much more on the content you add to it, than on the theme.
