Any support to add flash movie or animation?

  Anything beside Youtube and others public showcases? What is missing is a ‘frame’ or any support to hold flash files (swf) coming from external server.

  Flash, iframes and javascript are disallowed for security reasons.

  Can I add flash? video? Embed other media?

  No, the services listed in the FAQs are the only ones available for WordPress.com blogs. Using frames, Javascript or input tags can be a potential security risk and as WP.com hosts all our blogs, it’s a policy they won’t change. At the moment YouTube, Google Video and Vimeo are the main ones we can use. If there’s another you like, you can always suggest it to staff once support opens.

  Thank – any of YouTube, Google Video, Vimeo… allows for private show (flash or video not available to large public) : i.e.: available only from the tag i will put on my wordpress blog?

  I’m not that experienced with them so I’m not sure, but I know if you make your video private at YouTube you can still embed it on your blog. But people need to be signed it at YouTube and on a list of users you’ve approved to view it, so it wouldn’t be of much use.

  Have you looked at the WordPress Video Player? It won’t do flash but if you can convert it into another format, I think it’ll do what you want; you’re hosting it, so it’ll only be available on your blog. Somewhere like Media Convert could probably do the conversion.

  Hi – i have found a temporaray solution putting my fws flash file embedded in an html page on Ripway servers. Still there should be a flash frame for WordPress.

  If you would like to share your opinion with TPTB then you can do so during support hours (Mon-Fri 8AM-4 PM Pacific time) by using the “support” button on the top right hand corner of any admin side blog page.
