Any way I can make a dormant (free WordPress) URL mine?

  Is there a way I can take hold of a dormant URL? I really want under5feet.wordpress.com, but it has been taken. And when I paid a visit to the site, it has nothing there. No posts, just some theme.

  If you can somehow find and contact the owner, you can work it out with them. Staff will not give you contact information.

  According to WordPress.com’s policy, they don’t recycle URLs that were previously owned or deleted by the owner (and for good reason!) as stated here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  But since this blog hasn’t been deleted yet, and is, as you say, just dormant, maybe you can try to contact the owner and ask them nicely for it? Maybe they can transfer ownership to you.

  Since the website doesn’t have a contact form, you can try to post a comment and see if the owner replies.
