Any way to filter the themes list?

I for one am stumped. @pcosta88 and/or @timethief might have other ideas, but if not, the only idea I have left is to tag the thread for staff assistance. The full Automattic staff is on their staff retreat/grand meetup right now so the wait may be longer than usual for a response.

That is the only problem that I have noticed so far. But have only been using WordPress three days.
I thought maybe the problem was because of the theme I switched to. But other themes had the same problem. I tried creating a new blog and that blog has the same problem. -
Double check these last couple options please:
If you are meeting the requirements try the following options:
a. Clearing your browser cache and cookies
b. Using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
c. Updating the browser to the latest stable version http://browsehappy.com/
d. Confirming third party cookies is enabled on the browser
e. Confirming JavaScript is enabled and updated.
http://www.enable-javascript.com/
f. Confirming Flash is updated and if required installing the latest version of Flash
g. Resetting your router and modem and rebooting your computer
then logging in using the secure https:// log-in
http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
—>Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
h. Try another browser -
Are you running an aggressive ad blocker, or in some other way blocking cookies or java script from running on the page? It seems unlikely since you tried it in several different browsers, but if you are running super tight security you might be blocking the search element from rendering. . . .

I did all that you suggest, but the problem persists.

I even tried this from my wife’s laptop and I still do not see a search box on the Appearance — Themes page.
-
I can’t help with the problem but you can still search if you go to the Appearance > Themes page and add ?search=something to the URL so that it looks like this: https://johnpankowicz.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?search=something. Does that do anything if you try it?

How do I “tag the thread for staff assistance”? I do not see that option. Is this only available to non-free users of WordPress?
Is it possible that the search option for themes is only available to paying users? -
The thread has already been tagged so the staff will take a look, and theme searching is something that’s available to everyone, did you try the link I posted just a moment ago?
-
Hi Hallluke. Thanks, that worked. It showed me just the theme that has “something” in the name, “Something Fishy”. I can use that method for now until I learn how to get the search box.
-
Haha yes I was being very literal when I had to think of “something” to use as an example! It should work for whatever search term you pick.
-
I still have this problem. What is the procedure for “tagging the thread for staff assistance”? I thought this was done 4 days ago, but I did not get any assistance.

Hi there!
This could be a problem specific to your ISP. Can you please try another Internet connection and see if that helps in getting the search form to appear? For now, I would activate a theme via the Theme Gallery. Simply hover your mouse over the thumbnail and click “Use this Theme”, or, click on “Activate” from the theme page.
Let me know what your findings are. Thanks!
-
I didn’t realize that I could activate themes from themes.wordpress.com. I thought it had to be done within my dashboard. Thank for that info.
It is quite possible that most of the state I live in (Maine) used the same ISP (Time Warner Cable). Are you saying I need to try a different ISP? That would be hard to do. It that really possible that a major ISP could be at fault for stopping a search box from appearing in my browser?

Are you saying I need to try a different ISP?
Yes and no. You may try connecting from another location even if it’s the same ISP (ie coffee shop or at a friend’s house). Alternately, if you have a data connection on your mobile phone, you may set it up as a mobile hotspot and connect to that one.

Yes, it’s possible.
