Any way to prevent a video being displayed instead of the feature image?
-
I managed to get a feature image to show on my post preview thing, problem is if any posts contain a video then it displays that instead of the feature image. So I either have to remove the video or just accept that will be the thing that is displayed.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You cannot be referring to http://confessionsofabackcountrystalker.wordpress.com/ because the Koi theme does not support featured images https://wordpress.com/themes/koi/
Please provide the URL for the blog in question in the form of an active link starting with http://

I’ve been told this, but regardless, I did get to select which image is displayed. This is solved now actually, the next page I checked my blog on, the video wasn’t being displayed in favour of my featured image.

Free themes supporting featured images are listed here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/featured-images/?sort=free
We all select which images can be embedded into posts and pages, regardless of theme. Those are not featured images. Please read about featured images here https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/
Make sure you are running a browser and version of it found here http://browsehappy.com or upgrade please.
See the accepted file types here please:

We can embed both videos and images in any post or page in any theme.

http://support.wordpress.com/videos/re: display in the Reader
Currently, when a post with the Standard, Aside, Link, Quote, or Status post format contains a video or audio embed or slideshow, that embed is pulled out and used in the Reader. Otherwise, it uses an image from the post.If the post has the Gallery or Image post format, a video or audio embed in that post would not be used in the Reader – one or more images would be used instead.
The way our RSS feeds work is that it pulls and displays the first image it finds inside the post content. When the Reader looks for an image, it goes for the featured image first and then an image inserted into the post — if there are no images that meet the size criteria, it will display the image as a thumbnail instead of a large image.

P.S. I see that you have uploaded a custom image background https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/custom-backgrounds/ but once again that is not a featured image.
