Any way to show recent posts in post?

Hi there,
I wondered if there is any way to show a list of recent posts at the side of a post, and not just at the main menu? the reason is that a lot of our traffic comes from individual links to posts, and once they’ve read it, they leave without going to our main page to see other content. Can a list be shown at the side of a post containing all recent posts, so that maybe they’ll see something else they like and click around a bit?

You could use the new archive short code and just use the List format at the bottom of each post all though this method will show all post which is better if you think about it because you Might have a really great article that you would like to shed light on again since it got buried,
