Something has changed in the last few months. Web sites stop loading after 5 seconds when you visit any wordpress.com hosted web site in Turkey. It does not matter If you use Firefox, Opera, Safari or Chrome but interestingly Edge browser works for longer than 5 seconds and mobile browsers works longer.

This affects admin page also. I can’t use my web site. It’s hard to post something. You need to refresh your browser so many times.

This started with image loading problem and now it affects all sites. It’s getting bad every day.

This is not just my problem. I tried at different locations on different computers and different browsers. This means It’s hard to visit a wordpress.com hosted web site, too.

I would like to inform wordpress.com authorities about that. How can I communicate with someone or let them know about this?

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention — I can see how disruptive this must be, and I really appreciate the effort you’ve already put into testing across different devices, browsers, and locations.

To help us investigate this further, I’d like to gather a few more details from you:

    • How long has this been going on, and would you say it happens consistently?
    • Does the issue persist on mobile devices, or when you’re on different networks (like at home, work, or using mobile data)?
    • Are others in your area or network experiencing the same problem?

Also, could you let us know which of these you’re able to access (or not) from your current location?

    • wordpress.com
    • uwpressblog.com
    • wpbizseo.wordpress.com
    • wordpress.com/support
    • nasa.gov

If you’re able to, please also share the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and your current IP address — you can find that by visiting whatismyip.org.

If you’re comfortable with more technical steps, running a traceroute can also help us pinpoint where things are getting stuck. You can find instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/traceroute

We’ll absolutely follow up once we have more information, but since this kind of issue is often related to local ISP or government-level blocks, it’s unfortunately outside our direct control. In some past cases, these issues have taken days, weeks, or have not been resolved at all. If it’s safe to do so, you may also consider reaching out to your ISP or local authorities to report the issue from your end.

    Thanks again for flagging this.

Hello. Thank you very much for your reply. I really appretiate that.

I think it started around January 2025. Some of images on my web site wasn’t loading. After that I couldn’t visit posts for a while. I tried to visit random wordpress.com hosted web site and It was same for them too. And then everything fixed by itselfs. It does not happen consistently. It happens sometimes and it takes few hours maybe more.

I’m able to visit wordpress.com, uwpressblog.com, wpbizseo.wordpress.com, wordpress.com/support, nasa.gov at this moment. If this issue happens again. I’ll check again.

I’m not able to help technical steps but My IPv4 88.230.175.58 and ISP TurkTelecom.

When I noticed this issue again, I asked few of my friends to visit my web site and they end up with the same issue. Different locations but same ISP.

I didn’t think this issue can be related to my local ISP because mobile browsers and Edge browser were working fine but If ISP can cause a problem like this, I’ll consider this, too. And If learn something about it, I’ll let you know.

Everything is fine at this moment. I hope it will not happen again… Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

Thanks for the response. I am glad to hear that everything is working fine at the moment.

If the issue occurs again, to determine whether it is due to ISP block or a browser issue, please visit the site on different browsers and devices from different ISP services.

I’d also suggest testing using a VPN service. You can learn more here: https://wordpress.com/support/bypassing-internet-restrictions/#vpns-virtual-private-network
