Anybody noticing slowness on Firefox 5?

    I’ve been noticing really slow keyboard response when I write a new blog post using Firefox 5 (several times, different days, different blogs, so it seems the theme involved isn’t an issue). If I backspace to correct a spelling error I often overshoot because the initial response is delayed, and using the key combinations to navigate word by word or paragraph by paragraph seem slow as well. Is it possible Firefox 5 isn’t playing nice with WordPress?

    I’ve tried the same on Safari (same Dell PC with Windows 7) and the keyboard response is fine. At home I have a Mac laptop with Firefox 4, and same thing, no speed problems.

    Weird, and frustrating.

    I do find very occasional delays when backspacing to delete. It seems to happen irregularly, and I think it happens when I’ve had my browser open for a long time. I generally find that if I close my browser and reopen it, the problem goes away. Don’t know whether it’s genuine cause-and-effect or mere coincidence, however.

    There have been other threads discussing slow typing & slow deleting/backspacing, and I seem to remember that having hardware acceleration enabled seems to cause Firefox 5 to slow down in wordpress, even if everything else is functioning fine. You might consider turning off hardware acceleration and see if that helps. (Options > Options > Advanced > General)
