Anyone else have issues with their webpage loading?
-
My wordpress.com webpage often won’t load properly for viewers. Sometimes it takes a very long time to load and other times it won’t load at all. This happens frequently for quite a few people who want to read my blog (they have recently begun telling me about this problem). I have asked around and there doesn’t seem to be a trend based on where the viewers are or what kind of technology they’re using.
I have even had to reload my own pages several times in order to read my already-published posts.
Anyone have similar issues or any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi there. I’m afraid the culprit might be your theme. Image-heavy themes like yours often take longer to load, especially on slower connections, as images contain much more data than text. The fact that you include so many images in your posts also affect loading time.
Another factor might be that the images you’re uploading have a very high resolution. I opened a random image in a post on your blog and it’s over 2000 pixels wide with a file size of over 500kb, while the maximum display width of your theme is 624 pixels, which will give a file size of under 100kb at the same megapixel setting on your camera.
Only your featured images need to be 2000 pixels wide, so if you resize all other images before you upload them to your blog, this should significantly reduce the load time of your site AND your media storage space won’t run out as quickly.
