Anyone know how to get a random post on the front page?

I’ve seen a couple of folks ask this question already on the forums, but I can’t make heads or tails out of the solutions offered. So being a complete ignoramus when it comes to coding and the like, I was wondering if some kind soul out there would be able to guide me through process of how to get it so that the front page of my site displays a randomly-generated post whenever someone visits? Would greatly, greatly appreciate any help on this one. Thanks!

Hi there,
To my knowledge, there is no way to have a random post load each time you go to your home page, however you can get a random post to load with every press of a button. You can do so by creating a link which goes here:
http://whatthehellshouldiwatchonnetflix.wordpress.com/?random
Every time someone clicked on that link, a random post will be displayed.

Hey now! That works like gangbusters! Thanks a million, but alas, I have one more follow-up question: in reference to the Minimum theme, I’m noticing that there isn’t an option in the Settings > Reading tab to choose whether the front page displays your latest posts or a static page. Is there any way to possibly add this option to my theme? Please, lord, let there be a way. Thanks again and really appreciate the help.

Hi there, that option will appear once you’ve published at least one public Page.
