  I heard on the radio that, surprisingly, the people of China are allowed to blog. I assume that if you say something bad about the government or something like that, they’ll try to track you down, though.

  Actually, wrong, have tested. wordpress.com is banned and blocked in China. Pathetic, but true.

  WordPress is indeed blocked, but during the Olympics most blocked sites were unblocked so that foreigners and journalists were not inconvenienced.

  Do you know whether the blocks have been reimposed? I suspect yes.

  Google Great Firewall of China; there’s a site out there where you can test if you’ve been blocked.

  They have taken off their test page because allegedly no longer reliable. But I used others and they all showed a block in force.
