Anyway of Changing my URL to read www.etcetc…
-
Hi there,
This is a real silly question, but I’m a stickler for details.
I don’t like my URL reading http://moviebastards.com without the www. prefix. Is there any way of adding this?
Thanks
Nick

No. www is an old protocol from back when everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.
These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.
Everyone who is living in the past and types in
http://www. moviebastards.com/ out of habit or who clicks the www links anywhere on the internet to your site will be seamlessly redirected to http://moviebastards.com/ -
Oops! I inserted a space that did not belong in the URL above. This is the correct one http://www.moviebastards.com/ redirects to http://moviebastards.com/
