Anyway to apply a summary setting to posts?

  In your feed you can choose to have each post read as summary instead in full text. My question is if there is an option to do that for the front page itself? I write quite a lot in each post (and I include pictures) so it’s a little daunting for a visitor to find a long scroll bar when I’m only showing four posts.
