Ape Gallery photo sizing

  I’m putting a WP site together at present and have added Ape Gallery for my images.
  The write up seems fine but all the pictures I add into it are shown square with the top and bottom clipped off.
  Is there any way this can be set to show the actual picture size rather than the default square?
