API issue with Stats
-
Hello,
I keep getting this message when I input my API key. The problem is the API key is mine and I am not jmorrow. Jmorrow is the person who previously owned the blog. It tells me to contact support but apparently they won’t provide support to my blog because it is self-hosted. Has anyone had this issue and been able to resolve it? I would be forever grateful.
Error from last API Key attempt:
The owner of that API Key (jmorrow) is not on the access list for this blog (2182913). To be added to the access list, you must contact support.

The issue isn’t the who owns the wordpress, com blog.( or who are the administrators)
its who owns the wordpress.com account.
you need to have a wordpress.com account to get the ApI key.

I have the same problem. I encountered this error after upgrading to wordpress 2.6 and the wordpress.com stats plugin ver 1.2.2. I am the owner/username listed, and I have the API Key. Anyone else have this problem and/or have a solution?

Just to clarify my last message, I get the same error as listed in the original post. However, I do have access to the wordpress.com account and the API Key for the user listed as the “owner of the API key” in the error message. Even when I enter that API Key, I still see the same error “The owner of that API Key (username) is not on the access list for this blog (########).
Interestingly, when I go to my wordpress.com global dashboard, I am able to see the stats for my blog in question. I sent a response to wordpress support, but if anyone else has a suggestion, it would be much appreciated.

hello all, i have maybe the same problem. I’m the administrator of two blogs and what happens is that some times before I used the same api for wp stats plugin for both blogs so i can switch from blog a to blog b stats from one account, but now the need changed in blog a can si only his stats and blog b the same, so i decided to make two profiles in wordpress.com and use two different api’s for two different blogs… now the problem is that from wordpress account A i see only the blog B stats and vice versa. the api of blog A seems to have blog B as an owner and vice versa.
the error:Error from last API Key attempt:
The owner of that API Key (vincenzoreda) is not on the access list for this blog (2525965). To be added to the access list, you must contact support.
I don’t kwon what to do now… if some one know how to solve this problem please reply..
PS sorry for my English

I’ve registered to WP and receive an API key, but whenever I try to insert the key as the final step to get Akismet working, there is always a red box which says “There was a problem connecting to the Akismet server. Please check your server configuration.”
I tried to insert the key manually by editing the code from Akismet plug-in itself, but that affects the stats on my blog because I’ve currently about 200 spam comments but the widget keeps on displaying 4 and it doesn’t update.
What’s happening and how can I fix this?
