API key if installed from Dreamhost?

  I used Dreamhost’s 1-click install to get WordPress up and running on my website.
  I was wondering if I even get an API key doing it that way. (from reading on this site, you ONLY get an API if you register here, and that would only provide info for the blog you’d host here as well).
  If Dreamhost’s install of WordPress comes with an API key, where do I find it? It’s not under My Profile.

  (I was hoping to install the WordPress.com Stats plugin)

  ARE API keys linked to the account/blog they came with? (seems like they would be). Maybe I have this whole concept wrong…

  Your API key comes from here at wordpress.com. It’s listed in your dashboard under users < my profile in the upper right.

  Your API key can be used for blog stats and Akismet both.
