API key is in blank
-
Hi guys. Can’t find where/what my API key is.
I have already look at the right-top of the “Profile” section of my account, and it only appears the following:– – > Your WordPress.com API key is: . Don’t share…
I think some kind of number should be between “is: ” and “. Don’t “
I need the API key to activate Akismet and other plugins in my wordpress.com blog and a self-hosted wordpress site. -

Plugins don’t work on WordPress.com blogs; there is no way to upload anything. Akismet is built in to your wordpress.com blog and you don’t have to do anything to activate it.
For the self-hosted issue(s), you need to be at http://wordpress.org/support

Thanks for your responses.
Mark: I have sent a support email. Where do I get notified? Is at the email address I wrote in the form?
ellaella: Right, I need the API Key for a self-hosted site, and WordPress.org’s Support leads me to the same point: “You need an account at wordpress.com – you don’t have to have a blog there, just an account. Once you have that, your API key will be in your profile”. But as I wrote above there is a blank space instead the API 12 digits.
Regards, Enrique.
