API key multiple use?

  I recently created a blog here at WordPress.com. Even more recently, I’ve built a wordpress-based site for a children’s book I’ve written. That site, surfadventuresofnoah.com is hosted elsewhere. I want to use WordPress Stats plugin on that site. It requires a wordpress.com API. Because of my initial site at WordPress.com, I already have an API key associated with my username here. Do I use that API for my surfadventures site? Or do I need to create another username/pw associated only with the surfadventures site?

  In other words, will using the same API associated with my WordPress.com site work for the surfadventures site or screw everything up?
