Apostrophe 2: Changing the colour of the subtitle

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using the Apostrophe 2 theme for my site. I have gone into Appearance>Customise>Colours and Backgrounds and have selected 2 colours as required. However, the tagline in the Header section and various other titles (page titles, titles of blog posts) are still showing as light grey and I cannot find a way to change this. Please can anyone help me with this?

  • Hey there,

    Many thanks for reaching out.

It looks like this can be changed by changing the main accent colour as seen here:

To check, is this the colour you’ve attempted to change?

Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I actually linked the wrong site (I meant VolunteerWild) and was unable to change it in my post – I think I used a different theme for that one, which did enable me to change the colour of the subtitle. Do you know if Apostrophe 2 also has that functionality? It only has 2 colours in the palette though so I wonder if maybe the theme is just more restrictive.

  • Hi there,

That theme does not have a color swatch option you can use in this case. It is possible to change the color by adding CSS code to the site, but to do so would require an upgrade since it’s not possible to add CSS to sites on our Free Plan. In most instances we recommend the Premium plan because it allows you to edit CSS, and additionally comes with priority email support (live chat if you choose the yearly option)

If cost is an issue then you can also add our CSS add-on to that site, which would allow code to be added to tweak the appearance as well. For a simple change like a font color we’re happy to help with the code you would need. You are looking for similar text colors to the ones that you have embedded in the header image currently?
