    You can change your background color or image on apostrophe 2 theme i just tried it now. just go to https://nixkapiertohmaninogetit.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ then go to “appearance” then “customize” then “colors & backgrounds”

    thank you, edel
    I’ll try again

    sorry Edel
    just tried and it didn’t take on. Might this be related to me working on a MacBook ?
    If you can do it, you may enter my site and give me the following background colour: #f8eee7
    My current pass is just “earth”Explored, I would then change it afterwards.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Patrick

    Hey nixkapiert,

    Please don’t share your personal data here.

    You have the free plan which allows you to choose and color palette from the customizer.

    Please go to Customize>>Colors & Backgrounds and you can select any Palette.

    To change the background color of a particular section, you need to add a Custom CSS which isn’t allowed in the free plan.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Ravichahar
    unfortunately it doesn’t work either way that has been suggested here.
    Not a BIG problem, I’ll try again and again.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick, if you are talking about the white container where the content is, that is not changed by setting a background color. To change the color on that would require Custom CSS, which is a feature of the WordPress.com Premium and Business plans. If you should decide to upgrade, this would be the code you would need. You would go to Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text in that panel and then paste in the following.

    #page {
      background-color: #f8eee7;
    }

    Great cue, “sacredpath” thanks a load !!!
    I’be doing an upgrade shortly, and I’ll gladly keep your command line for then.
    (I’m just a “classic” old Art Director/Designer, so it’s natural I would misread some of this IT-nerding stuff here.)

    No worries, and you are most welcome. Let us know if you have any problems or additional questions.

    This was just what I was looking for!

    Using

    w#page { background-color: #XXX; }

    worked for me for one page, but did not save… thoughts?

    Also, how can I do this same container color across all pages?

    I’m using the theme Apostrophe 2 and have a plan with custom CSS.

    Thanks!

    @alabamagoods – I know nothing about this, sorry, but you should start a new thread with that question rather than tack it on to this one – it’s really a new question, and both other parties in this thread think of it as closed and might not check in on it again.
    (You might want to put it in the CSS Customization forum that’s where thesacredpath hangs out the most)
    Good luck
