Apostrophe 2 theme: displaying categories on front page
-
Hello –
I’m assuming this is only possible with a Premium or Business upgrade, so I’m asking before I stump up!
Is it possible to display categories on the front page of a site with the Apostrophe 2 theme? I’d like to clearly indicate whether posts there are “news”, “comment”, or whatever.
The site I’m looking for help with is https://853london.com/
Thank you!

Hi noflash,
You can can display posts from a category on your front page by using a shortcode. Here is how to: https://en.support.wordpress.com/display-posts-shortcode/
Simply insert the shortcode in your front page.
Let me know if this helps.

Unfortunately, I don’t think it does. (Sorry :-( )
Firstly, I don’t know where I’d place the shortcode as this is the default front page.
Secondly, I don’t need to pick and choose from categories – I just want the categories to show with the date or headline.

Hi noflash,
So sorry I couldn’t be of help. I have notified a staff to help you out. I did this by typing “modlook” in the tags area of this thread. Be patient and you will be attended to shortly.
How do I get a staff response? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/

In fact I’ll go ahead and add this CSS example in case someone else might use it:
.category-travel .entry-meta ::before { content: "TRAVEL - "; }should work fine. You would need to sub the category slug and text — so replace both instances of “travel” here with “news” or whatever.
